Description Ivan Rancati 2005-11-13 17:57:58 UTC
If I start KControl from the console, I get this warning

download@scruffy:~> kcontrol
Xlib: extension "XInputExtension" missing on display ":2.0".
Failed to get list of devices
download@scruffy:~> Xlib: extension "XInputExtension" missing on display ":2.0".
Failed to get list of devices

Not sure what the display 2 is.
I am accessing the box through VNC, but still not sure why I should be missing this extension.
Going to attach xorg.conf

Do you have any actual problem because of this?
Comment 4 Ivan Rancati 2005-11-15 09:28:00 UTC
No, no actual problems for me with a basic usage of KControl and usage of the actual box through VNC.
I thought I'd report it anyway, as it might indicate that KControl does not work well through VNC
Comment 5 Lubos Lunak 2005-11-15 14:55:57 UTC
The warning should be harmless, the first one even comes from Xlib. Some functionality may be missing, but that's to be expected if VNC doesn't provide the extension. Unless you have a real problem because of this, this is not really an issue.
