Bugzilla – Bug 133861
kernel panic on 2 cpu machine with aha-2940u2w HBA using xen
Last modified: 2006-01-31 07:13:30 UTC
Used kernel-xen 2.6.13-15c xen Version: 3.0_7313-0.1 kernel-xen-nongpl 2.6.13-15c xen-tools 3.0_7313-0.1 xen-tools-ioemu 3.0_7313-0.1 from Kurt Garloff. Other packages are taken from SL 10.0. Will provide kernel panic trace later (points to aha-2940u2w driver assumed I read the symbol names correctly). SMP kernel is booting fine on this machine. Same configuration on uniprocessor machine (also aha-2940u2w) boots fine, but fails to run Xen guest stable (will open other bug for this). Assuming a race condition in the driver related to the Xen VMM.
Created attachment 57595 [details] kernel panic (back?) trace picture taken from screen
Since we are unable to duplicate this in our test lab here in Provo, could you please try the latest Xen bits (if you haven't already) and see if this is still a bug?
Will do this week.
any news yet?
