Hi,

I just downloaded the boot.iso file from
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-edge/inst-source/boot/

And tried to install. But after selecting install from the first menu the computer starts asking for the 1st CD. But I thought this is an internet install ...

Searching a little bit further I discovered that I do not have any network devices installed. So I loaded the according kernel module (3C90x) and wonder: two eth appeared.

Only then (and after typing in a looooong URL for the installation source) a download started.

Please at least include hwinfo output and y2log logfiles (check opensuse.org page on how to report yast bugs).

No file in /var/log/YaST2 and no programm hwinfo does exist at the step where the installation stops, or at least I do not find it.

If I load the network driver module manually the installation works and I have no problems any more. So I do not see any value sending you the logfiles if everything works (afterwards). Please tell me how I do get system information or logfiles if the installation stops at "Please insert CD 1" and I am in the main installation menue linuxrc v2.0.0. Thanks.

If I look into /var/log/boot.msg I don't see any hint for a network device. Only I I load the kernel module I see messages for the network interface in the boot.msg. But still nothing in /var/log/YaST2/

To me this looks very much like yet another case of installation support for OpenSuSE - which we do not provide. The license agreements and READMEs that come with OpenSuSE clearly say so.

There are community forums where people can ask for help. Please have a look at the OpenSuSE web pages for further information.
