Bugzilla – Bug 134135
enigma missing after default (KDE) installation
Last modified: 2005-11-30 10:13:31 UTC
Although enigma is in default (KDE/Gnome) selection, it is mising after a default (KDE) installation. I took SLP for installation of 10.1 Alpha3.
Logs please
Created attachment 57612 [details] logfiles Unfortunately I can't find any reference to it in the logfiles. Therefore I don't think this would help much. :-(
From the logfile (y2log): URL: ftp://10.10.0.100/install/SLP/SUSE-10.1-Alpha3/i386/CD2/suse/i586/freeciv-2.0.7-2.i586.rpm There is simply no enigma*.rpm below /mounts/dist/install/SLP/SUSE-10.1-Alpha3 as you can easily verify.
BTW, it's still on SUSE-10.1-FTP-OSS-Alpha1, but missing since SUSE-10.1-Alpha2.
yes, alpha1 was a ftp tree, the slp installs for alpha2 and later are only the CD trees, since we have FACTORY (prev. EDGE) ... no, enigma is not in the CD-set.
Hmm ... so the packages for the default installations are no longer in the CD-set, i.e. only available completely on DVD ?
Question is still open ...
AFAIK there have always been packages in selections that are not on the CDs or maybe not even on the DVD. Yes, we should align the cd-configs with the selections from time to time (as we do already), but there is no automatic doing this. Lars: for Alpha3plus we should try to see which packages that are in selections we can make fit on the CD-set.
I still think that at least packages from our default selections, i.e. Minimal/Minimal+X11/KDE-default/Gnome-default should be on our CD set. I think this should be possible.
Could you add xmoto/lua as well too the CD set? It replaces gl-117 in the default selection.
o.k. I've added enigma, xmoto, lua and some other applications. Nearly all CD sizes now near 700MB - and we still have many packages in selections but not on CD. :( Perhaps this is a good time to clean up some selections...?
Thanks! I don't think it will be possible to see all packages in selections on the CD set. You can send me a package list by email, which are in selections and currently no on the CD set. I think we can close this now.
