Description Stefan Dirsch 2005-11-17 09:54:05 UTC
Installation is not posssible since hwinfo hangs at "block.5.1: /dev/sda geo".
It's a PentiumII-400 system with SCSI onboard controller (ASAU P2B-S mainboard). Machine is in my office.

Any interesting kernel messages at this point?

In any case, looks like a driver problem.

Looks like a broken aic7xxx driver indeed - Hannes, are you aware of any
recent changes in that area?
Comment 7 Hannes Reinecke 2005-11-22 07:51:55 UTC
Oh, plenty of. What was the last known working version?
I think I'd better have a look at it ...
Comment 8 Stefan Dirsch 2005-11-22 07:54:07 UTC
The driver of SUSE 10.0.
Comment 9 Stefan Dirsch 2005-12-08 03:43:23 UTC
I'll try kotd ASAP.
Comment 10 Stefan Dirsch 2005-12-08 16:49:33 UTC
kotd (2.6.15-rc5-20051207230006-default) works. Thanks!
