hwinfo hangs at "block.5.1: /dev/sda geo"
Last modified: 2006-02-03 21:45:31 UTC
Installation is not posssible since hwinfo hangs at "block.5.1: /dev/sda geo". It's a PentiumII-400 system with SCSI onboard controller (ASAU P2B-S mainboard). Machine is in my office.
What's the last that strace says?

Any interesting kernel messages at this point? In any case, looks like a driver problem.

Looks like a broken aic7xxx driver indeed - Hannes, are you aware of any recent changes in that area?
Oh, plenty of. What was the last known working version? I think I'd better have a look at it ...
The driver of SUSE 10.0.
I'll try kotd ASAP.
kotd (2.6.15-rc5-20051207230006-default) works. Thanks!
