Description Tazio Ceri 2005-11-18 23:37:49 UTC
I have a Sony Vaio Laptop and I use the sis900 module for networking. It works properly until I load the sonypi module.
If it is loaded, network stop working and does not restart if I unload the module, I have to reboot.
The problem was not present with vanilla 2.6.13.2.

I don't think we have a Laptop that needs sonypi here. Hard to work on that bug without being able to reproduce.
Can you add /var/log/messages, please?

Tazio: Can you try if the problem remains if you add pci=noacpi as boot option when grub appears?
Comment 5 Tazio Ceri 2005-12-18 03:59:36 UTC
The problem remains and gets worse.
After having loaded sonypi, usb stops working and I had two X freezes.
I checked in all logs finding nothing.
I am not using the nvidia proprietary driver, even if I have a Nvidia card.

Is this working better in 10.1 beta 3?

Last comment from user is Dec 17. Doesn't seem like there'll be any
info coming forth from him.
