Broken Cynergy T² kernel modul in kernel 2.6.14
Last modified: 2008-06-25 09:53:04 UTC
When I've attached my Terratec Cynergy T² DVB-T receiver at the usb port of my laptop, the usb-subsystem seems to get totaly corrupted (I've tried kernel-default 2.6.14-3 and 2.6.14.2-2 from the SL-OSS-factory install source). A simple "cat /proc/bus/usb/devices" hangs and never comes back (no output, not interruptable). I've attached the output of /var/log/messages, when insertng the usb cable. It worked fine until the last kernel 2.6.13 I've tested.

Greg, any ideas?
No I don't, dvb drivers are off in their own little development world, and don't interact with the usb community at all. And, since I can't ever test any of these devices myself, I haven't gotten interested in them :( That being said, I have seen a number of fixes in mainline for these drivers, so the next kernel release for us might have better support for this.
next kernel might support this better...
mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)
Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED. In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
