Description John Hillier 2005-11-20 23:24:40 UTC
YAST2 detects the HP PSC 1510xi All-in-One (Printer, Scanner, Copier) as HP PSC 1500. Model PSC 1510xi is not listed and neither is PSC 1500 in the model list for HP printers. As such printer driver for PSC 1600 series was installed and found works with the PSC 1510xi All-in-One. Driver installed for Scanner is PSC 1500 which works though only "start copy" works with the device (both color and black) not "start scan" function. Also noticed HP Device Manager found in "KMenu/System/Monitor/HP Device Manager" does not detect any HP All-in-One devices. Will there be an update via YOU to support the PSC 1510xi All-in-One in the near future?

Johannes: is there something we can do?

changed to enhancement.
Comment 3 Johannes Meixner 2005-11-21 13:20:13 UTC
PSC 1500 series is not listed at HP:
http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/productsmf.php
and according to the sane-devel mailing list it doest't work:
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/sane-devel/2005-November/015279.html

All we can do ist wait for HP until it is well supported by their driver.
