Bugzilla – Bug 135716
bogus dialogue when opening a spreadsheet of unknown provenance
Last modified: 2006-05-02 10:55:37 UTC
I was sent a spreadsheet via email. I got this dialogue when I tried to open it.
Created attachment 58857 [details] The dialogue i saw when I tried to open a spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet it also full of gibberish when I open it. If it'll be helpful, I can provide a copy of it.
Yes - that'd be great if you can :-) it looks like an impressive error, may have security implications.
I still owe you a spreadsheet. I was at home the day I received it. Hopefully I can still find it.
no spreadsheet in some months, closing presumed fixed.
Created attachment 81077 [details] the spreadsheet in question This is the spreadsheet that gave the warning.
When I open that spreadsheet, I get a warning that the spreadsheet contains macros. The unreadable dialogue shown in the attachment from #1 is, as far as I can tell, the same as the dialogue I see when I open the spreadsheet - with the fonts changed to Wine Marlett. (I verified this by copying the readable text to a writer document and changing fonts.) Note: the Wine Marlett font comes with the wine package.
Created attachment 81081 [details] the text of the macro warning dialogue You can change this document's font from Wine Marlett to something readable and back again.
Sorry for taking so long with this. I can't properly reproduce this anymore, but if you want to poke further I think you should have everything you need to do so.
ok - thanks, it's prolly some horrific font selection problem. If you can reproduce it somehow, can you assign to nopower@novell.com. Thanks for filing the bug :-)
