Description Markus Weiss 2005-11-28 22:50:32 UTC
Some of the multimedia keys the aboive mentioned laptop are not recognized when using the keyboard layout called "Inspiron 8xxx" under Xorg/KDE.
As the keyboards of the inspiron 8000er and 6000er series differ too much, maybe a new variant would be appropriate. I get all keys except one working with the attached patch, maybe it is worth inclusion ?

Only remaining problem is the "Eject CD" keycombination (Fn + F10). This combination is not known to the kernel, but trying to define it by "setkeycodes e009 161" as suggested by a message in the kernel log has no effect :-(
I would appreciate any hints wrt to the latter problem :-)

Thanks for the patch! I've filed a bugreport for this in freedesktop Bugzilla now. Unfortunately I don't know the answer for your question. :-(
