Bugzilla – Bug 135996
kernel oops in OpenSuse 10.0
Last modified: 2005-12-01 10:24:20 UTC
Was simply using Firefox 1.5RC3 when this happened. Machine is an AthlonXP 3200+ with 1GB of 400MHZ DDR memory. Machine is stable with SuSE 9.1 (its previous OS), but has had a crash or lockup about once per day since switching to OpenSuSE 10.0. The tainting should be ATI's 8.19.10 video driver for my 9200SE card. have you tried it without the ATI driver?
:) I was afraid you'd say that. I'll turn off the driver and see how things go, and report back in a few days. I hope it's NOT the driver, because the driver gives a 3X improvement in performance over the radeon driver.
i will close the bug now, please reopen when you have tested it, thanks.
