Description Michael Meeks 2005-12-02 14:16:31 UTC
So - when gam_server isn't chewing my CPU randomly in an unappreciated way - it's filling my syslog up:

Dec 2 14:06:07 linux gam_server: *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x08067418 ***
Dec 2 14:06:10 linux gam_server: *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x08065dd0 ***

Dec 2 14:06:58 linux gam_server: *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x080628d0 ***
Dec 2 14:07:07 linux gam_server: *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x08069bd8 ***
Dec  2 14:07:08 linux gam_server: *** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x08065070 ***
Dec 2 14:07:10 linux gam_server: *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (out): 0x08063da8 ***
Dec 2 14:07:17 linux gam_server: *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x08064f70 ***

over and over and over again.

Of course - I'm running with export MALLOC_CHECK_=2 - and as a bonus my root partition was full - but ... not encouraging.

I believe I have the latest gam stuff - no YOU updates available: gamin-0.1.5-5.3

jpr, if we are ditching gamin (at least as the default) for NLD10, what should I do with this?

I don't think we ought to invest resources in fixing it for 10.0.
Comment 2 JP Rosevear 2006-02-14 21:13:57 UTC
Well, fam can always be installed to replace gamin.
Comment 3 Robert Love 2006-02-14 21:16:07 UTC
Agreed.

What should I do with this bug?
Comment 4 Robert Love 2006-02-15 18:22:09 UTC
Going to go with FAM for SUSE 10.1 and NLD10.
