Description Eric Preston 2005-12-06 23:26:15 UTC
Cannot simply highlight and 3rd button paste text from application to application.
Apparently works under KDE desktop. I'm running GNOME with latest updates.

This is normal X type behaviour which is something I've grown used to with X for the past 10 years. Now, after having switched to OSS 10, I can't seem to figure out why or how to change the behaviour to this typical behaviour.

I can (provided an application has a Edit->Copy feature) copy some text to the clipboard and then paste into other applications.

Of course, this is normal X-behaviour -- and it works fine on my machine, also under other environments (Windowmaker for example). Maby the function of pressing your mouse wheel does not translate correctly. Does it work if you press the left and the right button at the same time?

You might verify the settings in /etc/sysconfig/mouse. Specially the settings for BUTTONS and WHEELS. Maby the problem lies there because YaST didn't configure your mouse correctly. Please check these values.
