Bugzilla – Bug 138619
Reiser4 support is buggy
Last modified: 2005-12-15 13:05:48 UTC
SuSE 10.0 ships with version 1.0.4 of Reiser4 as optional packages. If you use this you frequently filesystem corruption and have to "fsck.reiser4 --build-fs" to repair it. I reported this issue to Namesys, who confirmed it, and according to their response (from Vitaly Fertman), 1.0.4 of Reiser4 has an issue related to "plugin set fields" and the recommendation is to upgrade to 1.0.5. I hope the Reiser4 1.0.5 bits be released for SuSE 10.0 Below is the ChangeLog for Reiser4... ---- reiser4progs-VERSION/ChangeLog: 2005-08-12 1.0.5 version. 2005-08-10 Installation fix. Hi James, normally the package maintainer keeps track of the developments of his packages. Plaease only report `old versions' if they are very outdated. But even in that case it would be better to write a mail to the maintainer instead of using bugzilla.
Closing as resolved.
