Bugzilla – Bug 139332
ipw2200 hangs when setting ESSID
Last modified: 2006-01-10 15:03:52 UTC
i booted the KOTD of yesterday, Linux susi 2.6.15-rc5-git3-20051214150524-default #1 Wed Dec 14 15:05:24 UTC 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux after logging in, i had no wireless connection (ipw2200 with WPA-EAP). Investigating, i found out that i was associated with the wrong access point. I tried to change this with "iwconfig air essid wpa2-test". After that, all ifconfig etc hung, also my gkrellm netwok monitor hung. I did an sysrq-T trace which i will attach
Created attachment 60958 [details] sysrq-t trace, ifconfig hanging
This is actually the same issue as bug 133513. Please try the ipw2200 patches posted there.
ok. Can we get the patches from there into our kotd? Without it, ipw2200 is pretty useless (this time, no ipsec was involved ;-)
Let's ask the maintainer of wireless-tools :-)
ipw2200 isn't provided via km_wlan/wireless-tools anymore but is part of the kernel, so somebody with access to our kernel repository needs to add the patch.
Oh, I see. Sorry!
