Description Jan Engelhardt 2005-12-23 15:26:17 UTC
The current KOTD (/projects/kernel) or release kernel (/opensuse/SL-OSS-factory/...) lack the sony_acpi module (now acpid can't start) and reiser4, but I cannot find anything in the changelogs of the .src.rpms. What's going on?
Comment 1 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2005-12-23 16:20:14 UTC
Were they in a previous KOTD? If so, which one?
Comment 2 Jan Engelhardt 2005-12-23 16:22:40 UTC
Don't know about KOTD, but they are certainly in 10.0's current release kernel, 2.6.13-15.7.
Comment 3 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2005-12-23 17:40:13 UTC
Ok, I knew they were in there, just wanted to make sure we didn't have
a problem in our KOTD build system.

No, those features are known to not be in the current KOTD, due to the development
status of this kernel. Not all of the "add-on" features have been added back
to this kernel. As we get closer to the 10.1 release date, they will be added
back in, as engineering cycles permit.

If you still notice these gone in the 10.1 beta releases, please reopen this bug
to let us know.

Reiser4 kernel module is not in 10.1 beta2
Comment 5 Olaf Kirch 2006-01-30 12:19:51 UTC
We have no intention of adding reiser4 at this time. We are seriously
cutting down on the number of out of tree kernel code we include in
our product.
