Description Forgotten User 55iwwMllzz 2005-12-25 13:35:51 UTC
In YaST's Network Card module. the button "Managed by NetworkManager" triggers two opposite actions. A button label should indicate the type of action that the button triggers. But this button label is always the same, no matter NetworkManager is enabled or not. The correct behavior should be:
  - When NetworkManager is disabled, the button label should be "Managed by NetworkManager"
  - When NetworkManager is enabled, the button label should be "Manual Configuration" (or something similar)

Well, I consider this a major annoyance! Especially as "Firewall"
(a few lines above) is demonstrating how it's been meant to be,
thus creating a very inconsistent (sloppy?) impression.

Please consider to fix -- in particular facing SLES10!

Comment 0: I have moved the NM switch to a new dialog before the original one.
Comment 1 concerns a different thing, the installation proposal. Working on that.

I welcome the change. But the phrase "Traditional Method with ifup", although fine for a Beta version, it is unappropriate for a final version. A desktop GUI user should not need to know what "ifup" is. Maybe "Advanced Configuration" would be more a appropriate.
