NFS Install of SUSE-10.1-CD-OSS-i386-Alpha4-CD{1-5}.iso
Last modified: 2006-04-06 14:37:35 UTC
Hi Would it be possible to amend the install process, so that when peformming a NFS installation, one could just point the NFS process to the dir that contains the .iso images? This would save having to copy the contents of the .iso images to dir. I'm actually trying to install via PXE/DHCP/TFTP/NFS with something like this in my pxelinux.cfg/01-mac-address ../pxelinux.cfg/01-00-11-22-ab-cd-ef default suse10.1-alpha4-i386 # default label suse10.1-alpha4-i386 kernel suse10.1-alpha4-i386/linux append initrd=suse10.1-alpha4-i386/initrd ramdisk_size=65536 netdevice=eth0 install=nfs://192.168.0.5/scratch/ISOs/Linux/SuSE/i386 Many Thanks W Agtail
What about mount -o loop as a (temporarily?) solution? However, I second that installing directly from ISOs would be an enhancement. BTW: This bug should be in product "SUSE Linux 10.1", not openSUSE (which is for the wiki only at the moment). I'll adjust it ;-)
AFAIK ISO over NFS should be supported in the future.
Loopback-mounted ISOs via NFS are supported in 10.1, please retry with 10.1 >= beta9.
