Grub installation ignores FreeBSD
Last modified: 2007-10-12 15:10:22 UTC
Hi, I installed SUSE 10.0 on a laptop with kubuntu and FreeBSD already installed. When installing, the newly installed grub detected kubuntu and listed it in the grun menu, bit it didn't detect the installed FreeBSD. It would be nice if it would do this, especially since during the installation process I wasn't asked where to install the bootloader.
Hello Same here. Have installed Suse 10.1 and freebsd is not detected. It's not grave but it worth a little patch to correct that on the 10.2...
Yes, currently YaST2 does not include BSD installations in the list of "other" installed operating systems. We would need to add these. We need to see how well BSD disklabels and slices are handled by the involved tools. The implementation will probably take a bit and we will need a lot of testing, so we will see what we can do. Moving this bug to version 10.3.
no plan to do that in the reachable future, sorry no ressources
