hi

under yast, i added a user to a group (svn)
i started konsole and typed: groups

svn groups was not there...

i do: ctrl+alt+f2 and logged.... when i typed groups, svn was there...

surely a cache problem....

Not a cache problem - this is the way authentication works.  You need to logout and login again.
