Description Michael Stather 2006-01-14 16:24:30 UTC
I wanted to install SuSE in text-mode as a server, e.g. without installing X11.Unfortunately the "network and server" package selection requires the "graphical base system". So I have to install X11 and switch to runlevel 3 by default.
This should be changed, SuSE is better than debian IMO but no one will install it on a server when there are dependancies on X11. I also don´t understand why the network servers need X11.

component "selections"
Comment 2 Stefan Dirsch 2006-01-16 10:50:40 UTC
Many packages of "Network and server" selection require the X11 libs, so half of the "graphical base system" will be installed anyway. I'll change the require to X11 to a suggests, so you can deselect it manually.

fixed for Beta1.
