Description Michael Stather 2006-01-14 16:41:34 UTC
When I´ve a monitor e.g. with 1280x1024 detected and change this to a monitor which has only 1024x768 (for a server installation) the default resolution doesn´t get set to 1024x768. This won´t work when starting X11.

Changing the monitor will change the resolution only if the model contains
a max resolution entry in the CDB database or if the name of the selected
model contains a resolution string. In any other case you simply should
select your preferred resolution for this monitor or connect it and let
sax2 choose another mode while redetecting with

   sax2 -r
