Bugzilla – Bug 143286
Screen resolution for Sony Vaio VGN-TX1XP and TX1HP
Last modified: 2006-08-28 14:34:15 UTC
The resolution 1366x768 that this laptop supports is missing from the basic configuration during installation and when I add it manually on xconf the system doesnt start at all on the next start up. Generally installation runs smoothly and the only that suse doesnt find is the memory card reader - Texas Instruments PCI7411 Integrated FlashMedia Controller. Also the audio sounds a bit glitchy sometimes, the device is Realtek HD Audio ... can you check if the driver suse includes is the last one? Thank you and I hope on future support!
Hi Theodoros, thanks for your attention, but please always use one bug report for one problem only. So, in this report we will handle the resolution problem, please open 2 seperate reports for the card-reader and audio issue. Here: Please attach `hwinfo --gfx' and your xorg.conf. Furthermore, please attach the YaST logfiles.
Please reopen this bug if the information asked for can be provided.

I am sorry for my unreasonable delay, I hope on your effort and support! Thank you
1366x768 has already been added 1366x768=1366x768 (LCD TV)
The screen resolution exists but there isnt any default LCD monitor with such resolution and therefore I cant use it. Also its not LCD TV, its my ordinary laptop builted in monitor. I already attached relevant info and you can get more (modelines, horizsync..) from the url http://www.zen.org/?p=417 Thank you and I hope that on 10.2 everything will work out of the box without editing xorg files etc... Your time and efforts are really appreciated
done, I added for your selection the following record: +#============================================== +# Vaio VGN-TX1XP +#---------------------------------------------- +SONY:VAIO VGN-TX1XP { + Option=DPMS + Hsync=31-90 + Modeline="1366x768" 88.03 1366 1424 1680 1816 768 770 782 808 + Vsync=30-60 +}
Thank you Marcus! VERY much! Just to be precise can you make the Hsync lower value 31.5 ? Your help is really really appreciated :) Best Regards
