Description Simon Evans 2006-01-16 11:50:09 UTC
Line-in and mic record only with very low volume (nearly no volume). I have only rear jacks on the tested Devices (Fujitsu Siemens C5900 and Fujitsu Siemens Futro C250 Devices).
Intel 915 Chipset with AD 1986 Sound Chip.
There are no problems with any other Chipsets I have tested.
Evaluated the Program with Kmix and Alsamixer.

/proc/pci:

Bus 0, device 30, function 2:
Multimedia audio Controller: PCI device 8086:266e (Intel Corp.) (rev 3)
IRQ 11

Same Problem was also reported via https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org
Bug-ID: #1232, #1346, #1473.

So it seems to be a general Driver Problem.

Comment 1 Takashi Iwai 2006-01-19 14:21:50 UTC
Does it happen with 2.6.16-rc1 kernel?
Comment 2 David Strbac 2006-02-02 13:50:06 UTC
Using 2.6.16-rc1 does not help.
Comment 3 Simon Evans 2006-02-02 13:56:54 UTC
The use of the Kernel Version 2.6.16-rc1 could not help solving the Problem. The mic and line in Problem still exists. Do you have any other suggestions?

Simon Evans
Comment 4 Takashi Iwai 2007-03-16 17:20:30 UTC
It was fixed in the very recent version (2.6.21 kernel).
Will be improved on the later version of openSUSE 10.3.
