Bugzilla – Bug 143341
mic and line-in with very low volume on intel915 Chipset
Last modified: 2007-03-16 17:20:30 UTC
Line-in and mic record only with very low volume (nearly no volume). I have only rear jacks on the tested Devices (Fujitsu Siemens C5900 and Fujitsu Siemens Futro C250 Devices). Intel 915 Chipset with AD 1986 Sound Chip. There are no problems with any other Chipsets I have tested. Evaluated the Program with Kmix and Alsamixer. /proc/pci: Bus 0, device 30, function 2: Multimedia audio Controller: PCI device 8086:266e (Intel Corp.) (rev 3) IRQ 11 I/O at 0x3800 [0x38ff] I/O at 0x3400 [0x343f] Non-prefatchable 32bit memory at 0x0140800 [0xf01409ff] Non-prefatchable 32bit memory at 0x0140400 [0xf01404ff] Same Problem was also reported via https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org Bug-ID: #1232, #1346, #1473. So it seems to be a general Driver Problem. Regards Simon Evans
Does it happen with 2.6.16-rc1 kernel?
Using 2.6.16-rc1 does not help.
The use of the Kernel Version 2.6.16-rc1 could not help solving the Problem. The mic and line in Problem still exists. Do you have any other suggestions? Regards Simon Evans
It was fixed in the very recent version (2.6.21 kernel). Will be improved on the later version of openSUSE 10.3.
