there must have been some change in xine-lib that results in xine-ui not displaying the vdr button. Installing xine-lib from 10.0 makes the vdr button appear in xine-ui from 10.1. Copying only the vdr plugin from 10.0 over the 10.1 one does not make the vdr button appear.

Fixed in STABLE.

Cannot test the vdr plugin itself, though.
