Description Jan Engelhardt 2006-01-20 15:49:26 UTC
The CD bootloader (SUSE-10.1-CD-OSS-i386-Alpha4-CD1.iso) lists resolutions twice. Is this a bug or is it due to VMware (5.5.1)?

I think it get its data from the BIOS - so in this case from VMware.

@steffen, @ms: your comment?

Comment 4 Steffen Winterfeldt 2006-01-23 08:45:39 UTC
Please run 'hwinfo --framebuffer --log=xxx' in that vmware session and
attach the log. Then we'll know.

Comment 7 Steffen Winterfeldt 2006-01-23 17:00:26 UTC
Thanks. It shows the modes are indeed listed twice. First with vmware
specific mode numbers and then again with vesa assigned numbers.

I think we can live with that.
Comment 8 Jan Engelhardt 2006-01-23 17:04:57 UTC
Full ACK. If one does not work, the other can be tried. But it's currently hard to find out which are which - or is the sort a stable one?
Comment 9 Steffen Winterfeldt 2006-01-23 17:10:33 UTC
The order probably stays the same.
