Description Forgotten User 7L3tOtZIov 2006-01-21 15:26:24 UTC
During the installation people can choose between KDE and Gnome can be done. A new user could be confused. It could be said what the best choise is if in doubt and/or a screenshot with menu open could be shown.

This would make it easier for new users to pick what they want.
Comment 1 Martin Lasarsch 2006-01-23 11:50:10 UTC
i'm not sure if this is already the final layout/text

set as enhancement.

michael/adrian: maybe you can comment on that?
Comment 2 Adrian Schröter 2006-01-23 12:44:05 UTC
a screenshot thumbnail is anyway mostly only showing the background picture.
A text explaining the difference will create a flamewar, I am sure ...
Comment 3 Stephan - 2006-03-01 15:03:35 UTC
I think its important to add the browser firefox to the kde explantion!

IMHO it's the actually description more unfair.
Comment 4 Stephan - 2006-03-18 10:51:13 UTC
IMHO here is a better text:

KDE is a powerful and intuitive desktop environment that uses Kontact as its mailer and Firefox as its browser and Konqueror as its filemanager and web browser together.
Comment 5 Mariusz Potocki 2006-03-26 02:12:36 UTC
I agree. An explanation should be available during install.

It should read something about KDE's eye-candy, Gnome's usability and some other stuff that we can all agree about.

Comment 7 Andreas Jaeger 2006-08-07 13:13:53 UTC
Let's make this change for the KDE (see #4) text.

Michael, do you agree?
Comment 8 Rebecca Walter 2006-08-07 13:19:59 UTC
KDE is a powerful and intuitive desktop environment that uses Kontact as its
mailer, Konqueror as its file manager, and offers both Firefox and Konqueror as its Web browser.

I think something like the above would be better.

Used Rebecca's text, done in SVN.
