Description Gerd Bavendiek 2006-01-22 10:50:09 UTC
I did an update from 10.0 to 10.1. After package ifnteuro system seemed to hang.
Switching to a console and doing a ps showed me that the system still worked.
Obviously processes fc-list <fontname> took really CPU (all CPU). This process
will make some people think that installation has failed.

After quite a couple of minutes (maybe 8-10 mins) installation continued. When it came to
SuSEconfig.fonts it took again really time, but not so much than before (approx. 3-4 mins).

I'm quite sure that this is not a normal timing.

Kind regards

Gerd

its fonts-config, which is slowing down due to fontconfig not properly using its caches.

known, will hopefully be fixed for next beta.
