Description Karl I 2006-01-22 20:53:07 UTC
Have just installed latest sec updates on a laptop and a desktop machine.
Probably caused by one of the following:
I cups (Security): Das Common Unix Printing System
   seccheck (Security): Securitycheck-Skripte
I wine (Security): Ein MS Windows Emulator (ALPHA)
I kdelibs3 (Security): KDE-Basisbibliotheken

The KDE Menu has green blocks round the underlined shortcut key. Other menus have similar problems. Exactly the same occurs on both laptop (intel) and desktop (AMD).
Screen capture at http://www.karlisaac.com/suse/index.html
It seems to have messed up the desktop settings as the layout of the taskbar has also changed.
Thank you.

KDE or X11 problem, certainly not related to the YOU engine
Comment 2 Dirk Mueller 2006-01-24 11:02:36 UTC
that means qt can't load its plugins anymore. did you install kde from supplementary?

Comment 3 Karl I 2006-01-24 11:38:41 UTC
Sorry am new to SuSe, so not sure what this means. I installed from CD that came with SAMS Suse Linux 10 unleashed. I have added a snapshot so you can see the installation sources I have added at www.karlisaac.com/suse/index.html.

Should I just reinstall kde? How/where do qt's plugins get loaded, maybe I can have a look to see whether I can spot the problem.

Thanks.

PS I also installed Gnome when I first installed on both machines.
Comment 5 Dirk Mueller 2006-01-24 12:21:17 UTC
you have to reinstall kdelibs3 from supplementary (which you have in your installation list).

Comment 6 Karl I 2006-01-25 23:18:14 UTC
That has resolved it. Thank you.
