Description Tim Fechtner 2006-01-23 08:05:12 UTC
It isn't possible to create users with an empty password using yast.

I've set in yast in "security options" the minimum number of letters for passwords to 0 and have disabled the check for complicate passwords (palindrom). I'm able change the password to an empty password using the "passwd"-command on the console. This should also be possible using yast.

Stano, please move this to FD as mandatory features for SP1.

Proposal: do not ask user for confirmation of empty password when minimal passwor
ed length is set to 0 (currently the module asks user to confirm password shorter than value potentialy set in pam_pwcheck). Is it fine?
Comment 12 Marcus Meissner 2006-07-18 14:37:24 UTC
(actually yast should only really allow secure defaults
and just not reduce the password size at all or even allow disabling
of dictionary checks).

the solution you propose is fine I think.

the security issue needs to be fixed too, but sp1 is fine.
