Bugzilla – Bug 145399
CD-ROM (DVDburner) not installed after installation from hard disk
Last modified: 2006-04-13 09:50:51 UTC
After finishing a full installation from hard disk directory the CD-ROM is not "known". One needs to go to YaST2->Hardware-CD-ROM drives and install it manually to get an /dev/dvdrecorder entry into fstab.
please attach: /var/log/YaST/* hwinfo --cdrom
Created attachment 64917 [details] YaST2logs /var/log/YaST/* as requested
Created attachment 64920 [details] hwinfo --cdrom hwinfo --cdrom as requested
Seems to be an installation issue? Jiri if this is nothing for you, assign it back to us.
Assinging back to fehr.
File /etc/udev/rules.d/65-cdrom.rules contains: SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_PATH}=="pci-0000:00:1f.1-ide-1:0", SYSFS{removable}=="1", SYMLINK+="dvdrecorder cdrom dvd cdrecorder" which should be fine, please check why udev does not create the symlinks.
Does the symlink exist after a reboot?
No reply, closing the bug. (should be fine in the current release)
