Description Emmet Wildes 2006-01-25 15:45:50 UTC
Unable to open up Vendor Driver CD dialog

SL10.1
US
Japanese

Steps
1. Launch YAST.
2. Select Miscellaneous and then Vendor Driver CD.
3. Insert CD when prompted and press Ok.

Expected Result:
Vendor Driver CD Option should open.

Actual Result:
Vendor Driver CD Option still not opening after inserting the CD.

Note:
For Japanese, when you insert the CD, it just goes around in a loop asking you to insert the CD and press ok.

Vendor Driver CD not opening up
Comment 2 Kerry OConnor 2006-01-26 10:01:22 UTC
This doesn't appear to be working. I've tried a CD with the folder structure linux/suse/ and some drivers in the suse folder and it still says "The CD-ROM data does not match the running Linux system. Aborting now.".

Not sure if I've set it up correctly. Could you provide a location of a CD which would work?

Maybe the error message could be expanded a little to make it clearer for the user?
Comment 3 Barry Molony 2006-01-26 10:13:05 UTC
Also occurs on Traditional Chinese Beta 1

Can't find this one - Beta 4 - Brazilian Portuguese
Comment 13 Lukas Ocilka 2006-03-15 10:25:11 UTC
Barry:
`unzip YaST2.zip` >>
  Archive: YaST2.zip
    creating: YaST2/

There's nothing but the YaST2 directory in the archive ;)

Reporter: I've tested this with Beta7 and it behaves exactly the same in en_US and in ja_JP, the only difference is the selected language :) Could you, please, retest with some `younger` Beta?
Comment 14 David Boyle 2006-03-21 12:12:06 UTC
This works exactly as the en_US on Beta 8.
Closing.
Comment 15 David Boyle 2006-03-21 12:13:29 UTC
The Japanese loop issue does not occur on Beta 8.
