Description Kirk Coombs 2006-01-27 19:15:48 UTC
I installed beta2 on my system with two sound cards:

- Creative SBLive! 5.1 Digital Model SB0220
- VIA VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller (on-board)

I let YaST configure them during the install, but when KDE loaded kmix showed no sound mixer.

I went into YaST and delete both cards then added the SBLive card. This worked.

I will attach y2logs and a 'hwinfo --sound'.

Same for Suse Linux 10.1 beta 2 on Dell D800 with 82801DB ICH4 . Doing what you did to fix it worked.

Please show the contents of /proc/asound/cards, and /etc/asound.state.
