Bugzilla – Bug 146501
Online update breaks Java dependencies
Last modified: 2006-02-17 12:44:31 UTC
I have installed an updated java via Yast Online Update on my OpenSUSE 10.0. Since then everytime I invoke Yast Software Manager I get unresolved dependencies: Package/Library │Kind of Dependency │Additional Information java-1_4_2-sun │is required by... │(Version 1.4.2.06-5 required, 1.4.2.10-2.1 currently installed) java-1_4_2-sun │needs to be reinstalled│(java-1_4_2-sun is required by java-1_4_2-sun-src, java-1_4_2-sun-devel, java-1_4_2-sun-jdbc) java-1_4_2-sun-devel│needs to be reinstalled│(Version 1.4.2.06-5 required, 1.4.2.10-2.1 currently installed) java-1_4_2-sun-jdbc │needs to be reinstalled│(Version 1.4.2.06-5 required, 1.4.2.10-2.1 currently installed) I guess I'll have to manually download and install the packages in question from update/.../rpm/ tree, however this should have been done by YOU for me.
Update - the culprit here is java-1_4_2-sun-src-1.4.2.06-5 which requires: # rpm -q --requires java-1_4_2-sun-src-1.4.2.06-5 java-1.4.2-sun = 1.4.2.06-5 Unfortunately java-1_4_2-sun-src hasn't been released in the updated version 1.4.2.10-2.1. Is there a clean way to fix the dependencies?
Michael, thank for the bug report. You are right, that sub-package is missing. Reassigning to the security team as discussed with Marcus.
