Description Richard Biffl 2006-01-30 06:01:08 UTC
Installation of Suse Linux 10.1 beta 2 failed because no drive was detected, so manual installation started. (Linuxrc v2.0.12 (Kernel 2.6.16-rc1-git3-4-default)). Tried installing missing Kernel Modules (Hardware Drivers). Each type of driver has a list of modules and a "More Modules" item at the bottom of the list. The "More Modules" item, when selected, says to find instructions for creating a modules disk on boot/README on CD1 or DVD1. But my CD1 does not have that file. (Suse Linux 10.0 did have a boot/README file, but that file said nothing about creating a modules disk.)

The are no modules disks (you always have all modules). I'll adjust the texts.

That it did not find a CD drive is probably a bug. Please open a separate
report for this.
