Bugzilla – Bug 146702
WLAN needs rcnetwork restart to make it working
Last modified: 2006-12-30 18:57:31 UTC
I installed 10.1 beta2 as update from 10.0 final. After booting, my ipw2100 wlan card doesn't work - but it works after calling "rcnetwork restart". The ipw2100 module and the firmware were already loaded before rcnetwork restart. I will attach the /var/log/messages section while "rcnetwork restart" was running. I use traditional network configuration (no Network Manager because it doesn't fit my needs :-( )
Created attachment 65722 [details] /var/log/messages sniplet from "rcnetwork restart"
Do you get any error message of rcnetwork when booting?
Created attachment 66634 [details] boot.msg relevant section of boot.msg: Setting up network interfaces: lo lo IP address: 127.0.0.1/8 smbcontrol: unknown command 'online' done kabel device: Broadcom Corporation BCM4401 100Base-T (rev 01) kabel configuration: eth-id-00:c0:9f:33:58:45 kabel IP address: 10.12.80.30/24 Warning: Could not set up default route via interface Command ip route replace to default via 192.168.1.1 returned: . WLAN should get 192.168.1.101 via DHCP, my router and DHCP server is 192.168.1.1. In between, I updated to beta3 and still see the problem. boot.msg is also from beta3.
Known bug. Work in progress.
