Bugzilla – Bug 146838
Installer places /boot on LV!! even when 0x83 non-LV partition selected.
Last modified: 2006-02-08 09:50:37 UTC
Install from downloaded CDs. Using LVs over software raid5 PVs. Boot paritions are not LV. Custom partitioning used. Selected /dev/hda6, edit, noformat, (already done external to install as ext3), mount point /boot. Then selected /dev/VolGroup1/SuSE101b2, edit, mount point /. Selected finish, and msg that SuSE101b2 was being formated. Software installed from CD-1, then configuration prior to first boot (bz 146747 applied here). On firstboot, no files on /dev/hda6. Booted SuSE10.0 on same system, mounted /SuSE101b2 on a tmp dir and found a dir /boot with all of the boot and grub files!!! As all know, can't boot from an LV! On the same system, installed SuSE 10.0 without any problems.
Please attach the yast logfiles located in /var/log/YaST2.
Additional, please attach the output of `fdisk -l', `hwinfo --disk' and the generated /etc/fstab. Thanks.

I see, order of mount commands is wrong. Looking into that.
Bug will be fixed in beta#4.
