Bugzilla – Bug 146944
SL10.1_LOC-Linux-zh-CN-Beta2-06/01/31-Unable to open YAST when logged in a local user.
Last modified: 2006-04-19 13:39:06 UTC
Unable to open YAST when logged in a local user. SL10.1 Simplified Chinese Beta2 Steps: 1. Install SUSE and during the setup create a local user. 2. Login to SUSE as the local user create and not as root. 3. Launch YAST. Expected Result: YAST should launch. Actual Result: YAST does not launch. When you log out and back in as root YAST will then launch.
This also occurs if you install in English and then change over to zh_CN. YaST will not launch, but chnage back and it launches.
Please provide the YaST2 log files! see: http://www.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST

More info on this bug: This still happens on Beta 8. It only happens on KDE. YAST launches fine when logged in as any user when using GNOME. Yast2 logs are attached below. These are taken from text mode (which works fine).
