Headphones port on docking station for Dell D series is not controllable from yast or mixer
Last modified: 2006-03-07 17:14:06 UTC
The dell D series docking stations have a sound input and output connector on them. When speakers (or headphones) are plugged into these, the sound to the speakers is cut off (as you would expect, and as the mian headphone socket works) however there is no sound provided out of this speak/headphone socket. There doesn't appear to be a seperate volume control in yast or the mixer. Maybe it's a kernel problem, not a yast problem..... I suspect this happens in 10.1 too, but I've not been able to test as yet. Will try today.
please also attach hwinfo --sound
Created attachment 66375 [details] output of hwinfo --sound
Unfortunately, not supported due to lack of technical information. Do we have any contact with Dell for technical questions?
Impossible to fix without the technical information from h/w vendor.
