Last modified: 2008-06-25 09:53:31 UTC
A new version of twinkle has just been released (0.6), see: http://www.twinklephone.com/ -> news The changelog is: 05 feb 2006 - Release 0.6 ========================= - Custom ring tones (package libsndfile is needed) - Twinkle can call a user defineable script for each incoming call. With this script the user can: * reject, redirect or accept a call * define a specific ring tone (distinctive ringing) - Missed call indication - Call directly from the main window - DTMF keys can by typed directly from the keyboard at the main window. Letters are converted to the corresponding digits. - Letters can be typed in the DTMF window. They are converted to digits. - Call duration in call history - Call duration timer while call is established - Added --call parameter to command line to instruct Twinkle to make a call - Increased expiry timer for outgoing RTP packets to 160 ms With this setting slow sound cards should give better sound quality for the mic. - System setting to disable call waiting. - System setting to modify hangup behaviour of 3-way call. Hang up both lines or only the active line. - Replace dots with underscores in contact value - Silently discard packets on the SIP port smaller than 10 bytes - User profile option to disable the usage of the domain name in the contact header. - Graceful release of calls when quitting Twinkle - Changed call hold default from RFC2543 to RFC3264 - System tray icon for non-KDE version Perhaps it is still in time to get it into 10.1?

Please don't report this in bugzilla, write a mail to the maintainers instead. Only report old versions if they cause problems or errors. The maintainer will receive a mail about this.

This is funny, did I last time sent an email to the maintainters to have the package upgraded, did they tell me to open a bug report so the request won't be forgotten. Conclusion: use both: bug report and email or am I mistaken?
Have a bug report so the package maintainers won't forget about it.
Michael this is total nonsense. "Outdated" packages belong into an bugzilla report and not into the maintainers inbox! Richard thanks for the report. We are in feature freeze already. I cant update to 0.6. This is something for 10.2
Created attachment 66615 [details] Small patch to correct a build error
The package is not outdated indeed, so the quotes are indeed valid. By using this bug report, I thought it will be fastest to way to get the new package in 10.1 Okay now suse-10.1 is in feature freeze that is not possible. I gambled and did not succeed. Anyway if you're going to build this version you need a small patch as gcc found an error. I provide new packages for 10.0 and I'll so later for 10.1 on ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/apt4rpm/10.0
mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)
Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED. In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
