Description Harald Koenig 2006-02-06 18:47:18 UTC
while testing bug #148475 what's the reason for the slowdown I found another problem:
with

        option "noaccel"

in the device section for the ati driver the X server seg faults
when I start "startxfce4" or just "xfwm4" from a plain xterm (xinit).
twm, fvwm2 and kde don't trigger that crash with "noaccel", only xfwm4!

Please add the Xorg logfile(s) (/var/log/Xorg.0*).

in the mean time I did a clean install to beta-3, so the old log files aren't available anymore.

I've tried now quite a while to reproduce the problem with beta-3 but the X server never crashed so far...

Ok. Closing as WORKSFORME. Feel free to reopen when/if it happens again and attach the logfiles.
