Bugzilla – Bug 149113
cannot install via WLAN
Last modified: 2008-06-25 09:53:34 UTC
I tried a network installation via wireless LAN, but it was not possible since there was no possibility to set up the WLAN card.
Well... would be a nice enhancement, but not quite trivial to implement. There would be an internet connection required for downloading the firmware and so on, wich would require some other form of pre-existing network connection which on the other hand would make the wireless approach like a little ridiculous - or this feature would be limited to the box version. It would be a major undertaken... Jiri: What do you think about it?
What about providing a script which adds the necessary firmware to a miniboot.iso? These isos have enough space and if users are going to build the isos themselves, we are not tied up with license problems.
Yes, that would be easy enough. You can even put the add-on files on an extra CD and have the bootloader integrate it.
