Bugzilla – Bug 150271
Cannot compile Nvidia Legacy drivers agains new kernel
Last modified: 2006-02-13 08:23:06 UTC
Hardware: GeFore2 Pro (legacy) Kernel: 2.6.16_rc1_git3-7 Because I have a Nvidia legacy videocard (GeForce2 Pro) I have to use the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7174-pkg1.run. But now it seems (asked @ IRC) that the nvidia-driver cannot be build against this Kernel. That would be a problem for me, and all other 'old'-nvidia-users witch want to use 'nvidia' instead of 'nv'. I could complain to Nvidia, and then they smile, say 'thanks for the report' and turn around. Maybe the (open)SUSE-team can contact them and ask for a new driver-install. (lost one sucked anyway) nvidia-install-log: http://pastebin.com/551976
