Description Bjoern Jacke 2006-02-13 12:52:22 UTC
when I attach a second battery to a IBM X31 this is not recogniced by the kernel. /proc/acpi/battery/ keeps showing BAT0 - no other BAT* coming up. Rebooting the System with both batteries attached shows them all. The most recent bios and embedded controler firmware is installed. Is there any more information I can provide to track this issue down?

Battery/disk/... IBM bay hotplugging is not supported at the moment.
You have to boot with the device inserted.
You could try to play with /proc/acpi/*ibm*/bay.
Still you need to have a device inserted at boot time.
Please let me now if you get something useful out of this, I never could try that ...
