What I did:

1) Selected theme simple
2) Entered Firefox or Mozilla, and made a selection (pulldown, combo box, or about:config).
3) All selection colors where white on white - meaning the selected item is invisible.

Switching to another theme, and exiting X, fixed things.

Fixed in 10.1.
