Bugzilla – Bug 150688
Package requirements mismatch for Xercses
Last modified: 2008-06-25 09:53:39 UTC
When performing a 10.1 Beta 3 install, I chose to install the Java components. When clicking on Accept, the dependency warning dialog came up saying that some of the Java packages required Xerces >= version 2.7.1-2, but the supplied version 2.7.1-4 was too low, so should I delete the extra packages? In my book, 2.7.1-4 is greater than 2.7.1-2 ;-) Looks like the dependencies/provides fields for the relevant packages are not 100% correct.
Please be more specific, which packages exactly are affected?

David: if this is a flaw in the packager, which it looks like to me. Please wait for beta4 to be released and reopen this bug if this problem still exists - the packager-backend will change completely, so fixing something in b3 does not make sense ;)
mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)
Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED. In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
