Problem description:

SUSE 10.0 (OpenSUSE) does not include a CIMOM or other CIM technology.
We need for it to contain OpenWBEM - at least.

The Linux-HA project builds and distributes binaries agains the SUSE 10.0
distribution, and we can't include our CIM providers - because there are no
headers or libraries to link against included with SUSE 10.0 (OpenSUSE).

If this is a customer issue, please indicate the impact to the customer:

If this is not an installation problem,
       Describe any custom patches installed.

Provide output from "uname -a", if possible:

Hardware Environment
    Machine type (p650, x235, SF2, etc.): All
    Cpu type (Power4, Power5, IA-64, etc.): All
Describe any special hardware you think might be relevant to this problem:
N/A

Please provide contact information if the submitter is not the primary contact.

Please provide access information for the machine if it is available.

Is this reproducible?

True for all platforms all the time.

If so, how long does it (did it) take to reproduce it?
    Describe the steps:

If not, describe how the bug was encountered:

Is the system (not just the application) hung? No
If so, describe how you determined this:

Did the system produce an OOPS message on the console? No
    If so, copy it here:

Is the system sitting in a debugger right now? No
If so, how long may it stay there?

Additional information:

Alan Robertson had discussed this with Richard Jones and others in Novell. They agree that they should fix this.

Glen: This looks like a package request to me?
For such purposes there is a wishlist at:

http://en.opensuse.org/Package_Wishlist

If I got this wrong, please reopen the report and be more specific about the problem.

---- Additional Comments From alanr@us.ibm.com 2006-02-14 14:39 EDT -------
Filing a bugzilla is EXACTLY what Novell told me to do.

That web site carries no weight of a request from IBM.

That won\'t do the trick, I\'m afraid.

But, I\'m on vacation \'til Monday.
Comment 5 LTC BugProxy 2006-02-14 19:58:19 UTC
re-opening to address Alan Robertson's comment

> That web site carries no weight of a request from IBM.

Which website do you mean?

For package-additions regarding SUSE Linux we have the mentioned wishlist.
If there is more to it, please be more specific what the actual problem (bug) is here.
