Bugzilla – Bug 151425
cannot install via PPP
Last modified: 2006-02-17 22:36:42 UTC
I tried to install via ppp (UMTS internet connection) and found that this is impossible. This means that also pppoe (DSL) installation is not possible. In the light of OpenSUSE it should be possible to install directly from the network, as it makes no sense to download 3DB of ISOs when i only want to install a minimal system.
I'm not quite sure if this is supported. For the moment, that looks like an enhancement to me ;) Why is a DSL installation not possible for you? Please be more verbose.
There is no possibility to set up a dialup, either via modem, UMTS or DSL since the ppp stuff is not in the installation system.
Steffen: Can you shed a little light on this? Should the installation be supported in that way and if not, what are the plans?
We need a volunteer that programs all the dialogs for the setup. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 31894 ***
