Description Rasmus Plewe 2006-02-17 15:13:08 UTC
After installation of beta4 I log into KDE for the first time and get a Software Updater - Question" window, wich obviously is too small to contain all of the text, it ends with:
"...<username> t".
Comment 1 Stephan Binner 2006-02-17 17:29:26 UTC
And I want to add that "Yes" / "No" buttons in dialogs are usability bad. You have to read the whole long (unstructured) text to understand what "Yes" or "No" will do.

Not sure whether this belongs into the same bug, but:
I get this window every time I log in. If I click on "No", the window vanishes and I get it back upon next login. On "Yes", I enter the root password, apparently for the command "rug ua <username> superuser", get a window "User was successfully added to zmd", click on "Close" and get another window: "You don't have the required access level (superuser) for this method", and on the next login this repeats.

This issue is already handled in bug #151463.

Comment 5 Chris Rivera 2006-03-08 17:07:34 UTC
This dialog is now HIG compliant, the window displays the full message, the zen-* tools respect all zmd user privileges, and this dialog is now delayed until the user takes an action that they aren't authorized to take.
