your answer to bug #148184 :
" Sorry, but we won't support different versions of nvidia driver. BTW, the old
version of the nvidia driver you're talking of cannot be compiled any longer
for current Linux kernels. I'm afraid it's time to update your gfx card. :-( "

I tried the old driver (series 75xx) on an old nVidia card with a 2.6.15-x linux kernel (MepisLinux 3.4-3, latest version) and it is 100% supported, it seems the brand new kernel can compile the old nVidia driver. Hope it will be enabled in future Suse Linux.

Thanks. Kindest regards.

Stefan ?

No, it won't. I cannot speak for MepisLinux, but with the current SUSE kernels the old driver cannot be compiled. See Bug #147009.
